Associate Director Promotions

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Dylan Barry, John Kehoe and Shane Mountain to Associate Director level within our Project Management division.  These promotions acknowledge the dedication, high level of work and management expertise they have brought to the Practice.  We wish Dylan, John and Shane all the best for the next stage of their career progression with Carron + Walsh.

John Kehoe – Associate Director

John joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Project Manager in 2020 and has been a key member in developing the project management division of the business. John has eight years post graduate experience in the industry, having graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Construction Management from Munster Technological University in 2016 and achieved MCIOB Chartership in 2022.  John is experienced in all aspects of construction development, from inception to completion, for both private and public sector clients. John is now heavily involved in our overseas work in the Middle East and is helping to develop this arm of the business.

Shane Mountain – Associate Director 

Shane joined Carron + Walsh in 2022 as a Senior Project Manager. With over 16 years’ experience in the construction industry, he has delivered a diverse array of projects across a range of sectors within the industry. These projects include hospitals & healthcare facilities, manufacturing facilities, residential, educational buildings, energy generation facilities, pharmaceutical & medical devices plants, retail, sports & leisure facilities, and sports stadia. He has held roles within both main contracting organisations and on the client side during his career to date in Ireland, Germany and the UK. Shane is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and graduated with a BSc. (Hons.) in Construction Management & Engineering from SETU.

Dylan Barry – Associate Director 

Dylan joined Carron + Walsh in 2022 as Senior Project Manager.  He has over 25 years experience In Project Management on a wide range of projects, in Ireland, UK, Continental Europe and the Middle East. He has worked on complex projects in commercial, industrial, residential, retail, entertainment and medical sectors and his involvement has extended from inception right through to completion and handover and in some cases operational phases. Dylan is a Chartered Construction Manager with the CIOB and also has a Masters in Project Management along with a Law Degree from the University of London. Dylan is a PMP Certified Project Manager.

Dublin Office New Directors

Following our recent announcement regarding senior promotions within the Business’s Waterford office, we are excited to announce the promotion of Alan O’Connor and Colin Harney to Director level and Michael Higgins to Technical Director level within our Dublin office. The expansion of our leadership team across both offices is consistent with the growth plans for Carron + Walsh. We congratulate Alan, Colin and Michael and wish them every success in their new roles.

Michael Higgins – Technical Director

Michael joined Carron + Walsh as an Associate Director in 2011 and in 2016 was promoted to the position of Regional Director. Having over 26 years’ experience in the industry Michael has significant experience in the procurement of industrial, commercial, historic, and public buildings. Michael qualified with a Degree in Construction Economics and Management in 1997 and qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2000. Michael is also qualified in the area of Conservation Surveying and has gained significant experience in planned and reactive maintenance and refurbishment of properties.

Colin Harney – Director of Quantity Surveying

Colin joined Carron + Walsh in 2011 as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor earning promotion to Associate Director whilst acquiring significant experience in the procurement of civil, commercial, industrial, residential, education and listed facilities in the construction sector in Ireland, The Caucuses and the Middle East.   Colin has over fifteen years’ experience in the construction industry, having graduated with a Degree in Construction Economics and Management from Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street in 2008.  Colin has gained experience with numerous forms of dispute resolution having been actively involved with Project Boards, Conciliation, Mediation and Litigation as an Expert Witness.  Colin continues to further his education and experience in this field having recently commenced the Construction Law and Contract Administration (P.Grad.Dip.) course in Trinity College Dublin and we are delighted Colin will be focusing on the growth and development of our legal support department.

Alan O’Connor – Director of Quantity Surveying

Alan joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2013 and has been a key member of the cost management team ever since, becoming an Associate Director in 2017. With over twenty years post graduate experience in the industry Alan has been instrumental in the growth of Carron + Walsh helping to grow the practice across a number of sectors.  Alan is experienced in all aspects of construction development, from inception to completion, for both private and public sector clients. We are delighted to recognise Alan’s hard work and look forward to continuing working alongside him in the years to come.

Waterford Office New Directors

The Partners of Carron + Walsh are delighted to announce the promotion of Elaine Brazil, Nigel Cusack and Tadhg Ryan to Director level within our Waterford office, reflecting the continued expansion of the Practice. The promotions reflect the valued input of the leadership team in facilitating the strategic growth plans for Carron + Walsh across a range of sectors, both in Ireland and internationally. We look forward to future announcements regarding the Business’s expansion.

Tadhg Ryan – Director of Quantity Surveying

Tadhg joined Carron + Walsh as an Associate Director in 2021. He has over 20 years’ experience in cost management and administration across both private and public sectors project. He has been involved in the delivery of a diverse range of projects including commercial, infrastructure, retail, residential, cultural, leisure and mixed used from inception through to operation. He has held senior positions in both professional practice and main contracting organisations during his career in Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. Tadhg is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Fellow of the SCSI and RICS and holds a degree in Quantity Surveying, a Masters in Construction Project Management and an LLM in Construction Law and Practice.

Nigel Cusack – Director of MEP Quantity Surveying

Nigel joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2011, and has earned promotions to Associate Director and Regional Director in recent years. Having qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2005, Nigel went on to complete a Level 9 Certificate in MEP Quantity Surveying. Having over twenty-two years’ experience in the construction industry, Nigel has acquired significant experience in all sectors of public and private procurement and construction; and has led the development of the specialist MEP Quantity Surveying division within Carron + Walsh. With this promotion Nigel will propel the expansion of the MEP Quantity Surveying division and we look forward to working alongside him towards this goal.

Elaine Brazil – Director of Project Management

Elaine joined Carron + Walsh as a Senior Consultant in 2016 and has climbed the ranks to Associate Director and Director. With fourteen years’ post graduate experience in the industry, Elaine has significant experience in project management, programming, and scheduling of complex construction projects in Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Holland, and the USA. She is also experienced in claims and dispute resolution. Elaine graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management and Engineering from SETU and earned PMP accreditation in 2019. Elaine has been instrumental in driving the expansion of our Project Management division.

New Residential Scheme, Mayeston, Poppintree, Dublin 11

We are delighted to continue our positive working relationship with Fingal County Council and announce our recent appointment on their new residential scheme in Mayeston, Poppintree, Dublin 11. Our appointment relates to Cost Management Services for this scheme which comprises of the delivery of 121 no. new build social apartments and a creche on a formerly derelict site.

Introducing New Employees to the team

A New Year and we are delighted to introduce four new members to our Team. Matthew Flanagan joins our Dublin office as Senior Quantity Surveyor, supplementing our existing Civil Quantity Surveying team with his past experience gained in the field of civil engineering cost management. Declan Finnerty also joins our Dublin office as general practice Quantity Surveyor to service a mixed portfolio of projects, having previously worked in professional practice for a number of years. Martin Gibbs joins our Waterford office as Programmer & Scheduler, servicing a range of our Programme Management projects both in Ireland and internationally. Patrick Minogue, based in our Waterford office, joins as an undergraduate Cost Engineer, undertaking his industry placement under the mentoring of our management team. We welcome Matt, Declan, Martin and Patrick to Carron + Walsh.
